The reason why it would be 75% acceptance rate for people who take the test is because only people who know they are smart are going to take the test in the first place!

I took the American test the other day and our format is a tiny bit different from yours but it seems to be about the same level of difficulty. If you're curious, ours was two different tests; the first one was the wonderlic test which was 50 questions, supposedly increasing in difficulty and we had 12 minutes to answer as many as we could. We were told at the start that we would not be able to finish all the questions but my husband came very close! Some were true/false some were logic questions, some where math questions, etc.

At the start of the second test we were played a story and told we would be asked questions about it later. This test had seven sections with 15-30 questions, all with 4 multiple choice options. We had between 7 and 12 minutes per section with breaks for instructions between each one. Some of the 7 sections were "culture fair" with pictures only and some were not, but if you wanted a purely culture fair test you could call ahead and request one. One of the sections was entirely about counting money. The seventh section had questions about the story we'd listened to.

I agree with you that the time limit is the toughest part of the whole thing.

As far as using scratch paper goes, we were only able to use a small piece of scratch paper (4x6 or so) for one math-heavy section of the second test.
